In Battlefield 3, players step into the role of the elite U.S. Marines. As the first boots on the ground, players will experience heart-pounding missions across diverse locations including Paris, Tehran and New York. As a U.S. Marine in the field, periods of tension and anticipation are punctuated by moments of complete chaos. As bullets whiz by, as walls crumble, as explosions force players to the ground, the battlefield feels more alive and interactive than ever before.

Battlefield 3 (WF3) is a first-person-shooter with an intense single-player and an extensive multiplayer experience. BF3 is the successor of Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 1942. BF3 is being developed by Digital Illusions CE (DICE) and will be published by Electronic Arts. It will be released on October 25th in the US and two days later in Europe. It will be released for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC (Windows Vista). There are rumors that it will also be released on the Nintendo Wii but that hasn’t been officially announced. It won’t be released for Windows XP because the Frostbite 2 game engine only works on DirectX 10 and 11 video cards.
